Potential evidence; it may have been bypassed like the other safety devices such as alarms that awakened the workers.

Very interesting and in depth article. Unfortunately only one newspaper reporter and photographer were there when it was raised.

It will be a long time before the truth gets out (if ever).

This won't tell much. The drilling rig sank and twisted off the top of the blowout preventer. It's like breaking off the cork in a champagne bottle and wondering why it's leaking.

the size & weight of these massive blowout preventers
is unfathomable. hopefully the answer will be found
for the failure.
